Photographer's Note
Another composition of Fanad lighthouse this time from a lower POV to capture a little drama from the sea. Each time the swell would come over the rocks I was showered with sea spray so I covered the camera with poly bag then captured the shot while it cascaded.
My intention was to post this as a B&W picture which you can see in my WORKSHOP. My B&W work seems to go down like a lead balloon on TE but have a look anyhow because I like the conversion.
As I work through the other raw files of this location il have to post them at much later date as I am sure you are tiring of this theme.
Many thanks Steve..

Again an amazing landscape picture as in you standard.
The water flowing onthe rocks in foreground is fantastic.

The composition is perfect Stephen. The way you mimicked the bottom rock with the clouds above is great. And also the base of the lighthouse has the same shape... Three of a kind. What a great composition. The colors are great but I think you could have gone a little darker in that sky. I miss something I can't explain. Perhaps there is too much light blue in your photo. See the water in the foreground? It's kind of blue... The exposure is perfect capturing a great deal of dynamism. I like it a lot.
The b&w version can take care of some of the color "problems" I see here, but I need a more punchy b&w. But it's promising!

Hi Stephen, those are nice looking dramatic clouds. Between the two, I prefer your B&W version which looks very classic. I like the sharpness of your subject while having those creamy white sea suds brought about by the 'long' exposure. TFS...Alex

Hi Stephen,
simply fantastic! perfect management of rich colour tones, the longer exposure makes it feel like a painting...

Hi Steve,
Looks like a HDR exposure with a very bright foreground rich of details on the rocks (wonderful), and that sky which is still bright even after using the Lee. Which did you used here, 0.6?
I like it just in the way Luis discribes, it's great but it doesn't flow somewhere. Maybe the sky must be indeed much darker to bring up the mood even more. The b&w is very nice, just increase the contrast on the rocks to play more with light and shadow and you have a real beauty here...i like that one a lot.
The note how you made the picture is great...shows passion and dedication.

Hi again,
After posting myself a lighthouse today i like and appreciate that other post after the blue hour view. A typical shot signed Signal-Womb :-), long exposition time make marvellous effect here on the water and the rock, a very good atmosphere. I like a lot the beautifull colors of the original post but i also like a lot the B&W one.
Very very goog job!

Stephen,
OMG!! what a wonderful shot! Your composition and POV are outstanding with the placement of the lighthouse and the inclusion of the wonderful sky.
The long exposure makes the water very attractive and menacing at the same time. The lighting and colors are great with fantastic DOF and sharpness. This is one of the finest shots I have seen on TE, it looks like a Thomas Kinkade painting.
TFS,
Asa

Bonjour,

Hi Stephen,
Such an amazing picture. I really appreciate the way you got this stuning shot!
Bit oversaturated in the sky - doesn't look real. But all the rest is perfect including the B&W which is great too.
Well done Stephen!

Hi Stephen,
Just one word : WOW !
Everything is perfect : great POV, perfect composition, perfect sharpness and incredible colours in the sky. You captured very well the "dram of the sea" as you said. The B&W version is good too, but it would have been a shame not to see these wonderful clouds.

Olivier

I like both, color and b&w. In both the perspective and the sharpness make the foreground rocks stand out in a very 3-dimensional fashion. A bit too postcardish for my taste, but still perfect.
