Photographer's Note

This is a picture of the black beach at Reynisfjara, near Vik on the south coast of Iceland, showing the famous columnar basalt on the left and the Reynisdrangur sea stacks on the right.
The beach is accessible from Vik via a pleasant walk over the hilltop. This is a splendid location for birdwatching as the cliffs above are crammed with nesting puffins and terns.

For further information on my Iceland trip see my Iceland 2007 travelogue.

I will be even less active than usual on TE over the next few weeks as I'm leaving in a few days' time for a 3-week tour of the southwest USA.

Thanks for looking!
