Photographer's Note

Vik, the southernmost point of the Icelandic mainland, has these wonderful natural basalt stacks standing out in the sea, directly in view of the Reynisfjall mountain.

Legend has it that they were once trolls that got caught in the daylight and turned there to stone.

The sea is incredibly choppy and powerful, and many people over time has been swept out to sea from the incredible black basalt beach.
