Photographer's Note

You have to absolutely click on the link to see the details of the room better, in the Beta version. Please do so here Abandoned Interior Link.

As promised, here is an group of Interior photos from the latest abandoned home I explored in Djupivogur in Eastern Iceland.

What's so great about these homes, are the various stages of decay they're found in. For example, the house which Krzysztof just posted is in MUCH more decay in comparison. This house still is intact to some degree. It looks much more 'neat and tidy' But don't let that fool you - up close, everything here is pretty disgusting and I wouldn't want to touch it.

I really do hope you clicked on the link to see the room in greater detail. The stove is amazing, the items in the sink are not seen here, but in it was all broken glass, in the pulled out drawer on the left were old knives and sharp instrument tools, the pots and pans were very cool to look at. On the right the glass bottle was very cool as well. I love how the pots were left on the stove, as if they were cooking a meal and had to leave in an immediate hurry. Up close, the Stove was a main highlight for sure.

I like it when the home is in this condition, because we can almost see how it was lived in.
The BEST feature of all, was the newspaper that was left on the bench, it was from 1963!

Its too bad we can't post 5 or 6 WS photos, it was so hard to pick and choose only 2 addition WS's.

I'll show an upstairs bedroom scene, with a close up of the bedframe and its condition. Along with the bench seat in the living room. I wish I could show many more.

What I love about these homes are their untold and mysterious stories of abandonment. How many people lived here? a whole family? why was it left? why didn't it get torn down? possibly they were going to come back? The mystery is what draws me in each and every time.

I was lucky to find this home with its floorboards in walkable condition, thats a bonus. I was able to go upstairs and look around as well.
