Photographer's Note
This is a typical postcard view of Székesfehérvár, a city 60 km south of Budapest, and considered to be the first city of the Kingdom of Hungary, Like most of Hungary it was destroyed during the Turkish occupation in the 16th century, but was rebuilt in Baroque style in the 18th century. The picture shows the main square of the city (Városház tér). The fountain in the foreground was erected in 1943 to honour the city's historic past. The inscription around the globe is in Latin "Fehérvár is a free city of Saint Stephen's mercy". Behind the fountain the building is the Bishop's Palace, a designated historical heritage building.
A much better picture the same place on TE is here.
