Budapest Gypsy Symphony Orchestra, also known as 100 Violins, is a Hungarian symphony orchestra of Romani (Gypsy) musicians, particularly influenced by Johannes Brahms, Vittorio Monti, Piotr Tchaïkovski, Johann Strauss, Johann Strauss II and more of them.

History
In 1985, the soloist and Hungarian Romani conductor, the primas (first violin) Sandor Jaroka (The Primas of king and the king of Primas) died.

At his funeral, the community found again. The musicians came numerous with their instruments in a last cold and rainy day to say good bye to their spiritual chief. From a gloomy serenade over a grave was born the "Budapest Gypsy Symphony Orchestra".
Until his death in October 1997 Laszlo Berki, the conductor of the National Hungarian State Ensemble, was leader of the orchestra. With it outstanding artistic personality he has left a remarkable stamp on the orchestra. It is his merit that Hungary's best musicians are members of the orchestra. Names like Lakatos, Lendvai Csócsi, Boross, Berki - all members of the orchestra - are the « crème » of the Hungarian Romani musician dynasties.
Sándor Buffó Rigó is now the President, the Artistic Director and the leader of the orchestra with Jószef Lendvai Csócsi, as master of Violins.
One of the most outstanding members of the orchestra is the cimbalom virtuoso Oszkar Okros.[citation needed]
From this time the Orchestra has never ceased to play and has already had enormous success over the last years in many world-famous concert halls and festivals, notably in Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italia, Japan, Latvia, Luxembourg, Monaco, Netherland, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Slovenia, Slovakia, Switzerland, Sweden, Turkey.
