Photographer's Note
Hi there,
This is the lighthouse at Cape Lefkatas, located at the far most southwest point of the island Lefkada. It's more south then Vasiliki, but when you follow the main road, you first got to drive to Komilio, north from Vasiliki and then in the direction of Porto Katsiki. (southwest)
The last 4,5 kilometers need to be driven on unpaved road. I've read in the past it was 16km unpaved! And I can tell you, the road, it's terrible! I have never(!) droven a scooter over such a terrible road, it's hell, really!
Little rocks everywhere, pain in my hands from steering and manouvring to avoid edgy stones. But we we're destined to get at Cape Lefkatas, so we moved along...slowly.
It took us atleast 25 minutes to drive 4,5km down the road, going back we we're quicker, lucky us. My girlfriend actually got pain in here back when driving that road, from backing up all bumps!
Following the road with a scooter is not recommended! but the location is nice, it's worth it!
[Little history]
Cape Lefkatas is the place where renowned Greek female poet Sappho allegedly leapt to her death from the 100 foot (30m) high cliffs. There are spectacular views across to Ithaca and Kefalonia in the south, however the 16km (10 mile) unpaved road is enough to put off all but the most determined.
[/info, source : wikipedia] That's what I said about the 16km in the past!

Could have removed the electricity post easily, as can be seen in the workshop by sebcz, I've decided to leave it there, as this lighthouse needs it's power too. In the area around there are posts descending from the hills to the lighthouse, they are only to feed the lighthouse with power, no other buildings.
Hope you like it..have a good day.

Heel sterk werk!

Hi Emiel!
I feel the wide frame has nothing more interesting to offer than the lighthouse alone. The trees are somehow uninteresting. I'd crop that tight - see my WS.
The lighthouse - superb:), the trees - boooring :)

Hi Emiel!
Great picture, very well composed! Nice light control and great colours (this deep green on the trees, I think is the most "dificult" colour to capture. As always an excellent note. Congratulations!

I feel this is the most achievment a photographer can have.. driving painful 17 kms for seeing a location and result. considering this I only wish you could make it at sunset or sunrise so that the view could be even more magical
