Photographer's Note
I was walking to a small alley,
in Ano Poli of Thessaloniki
when I saw this graffiti.I
found it very interesting.
John Lennon,"Give Peace a chance"
I thought for a moment.
Then I tried to explain the message
that street artist sending to us.
Maybe "don't get peace out of
your mind"
Who knows...

Hi Thomas,
Its amazing how some graffiti motifs are very artistically rendered and tastefully seem to fit in with the surroundings, as is the case here. I like your POV, the clarity of the image and the lines and graphics. Your exposure level seems just right. Great capture and a fine note, Thomas.

Hi Thomas
I had to look at the photo for ages to try and work out what is going on in the graffiti work. I'm not sure though. It's a good urban capture in this photograph and an example of city life. Good work and nice colouring.

Well captured graffiti; showing the stone wall and the stairway put the work in its setting. Is graffiti art or vandalism?

Nice shot. I'm not always a big fan of graffiti-art, but I really like the contrast between the crumbling old wall, the sharp blue colours of the painting and the diagonal of the stairs and railings. Good composition -well seen

Hi Thomas, striking and symbolic capture of this piece of urban grafitti. The placement between the relatively new stairs and the ages old wall is significant here. Very well composed and the strong highlights in the left upper corner works well too. Very good!
Added to the theme.
Best regards,

Hi Thomas,
You chose a very nice title, but with a mission toward the world. Indeed the some graffiti motifs are very artistically, a pity that one young people not respect for private ownerships, often are great artiest, I can see here a good artistic painting.
Best regards,
John.

Hi Thomas, well seen, and graffiti nicely put in the context of your city due to the elements on both sides; so we definitely know that this is not New York. Pink Floyd, Lennon, I wonder who's next for the tribute... Thanks and regards, Daniel

Hello Thomas, I like the way you composed the scene with these great graffitti and the stairs. And your message couldn't be better. In these times of war and ignorance , when people just cannot accept each others differences and kill for stupid matters , to "give peace a chance" is the most important thing. How good would it be if we could all live in together like brothers and sisters accepting each others ways???
Thank you for your photo ans message,
Luciana

Hi Thomas,
This is a street and also street grafiti wall capture nicely done and composed. I think that your capture have the real aditional surroundings that are much better for a artwork than the original. Two in one like in Greece say. I like more your post and vision with this fantastic enquadrement view and nice colors. Very well seen by your great eye catch and so well composed. Clear picture and TFS.
The best to you my friend.

A strange tag, with a strange stone wall. The composition is interesting and the different parts works well together. Good light management too (it was quite dark, wasn't it ?).

Hi Thomas,
It's interesting how people make statements. While they did it through their art on the wall, you did it by taking a picture. I like this sensitivity to your surrounding and the quick response in catching the opportunity. The composition is great and the variety in texture is exciting. Well done!! Have a pleasant weekend.

Hi Thomas,
I somehow like this form of urban art and the one you broght us, as well as your note, conveys a strong message.
I also like very much that you included the stone wall; that adds a lot of textures and (with the ironwork of the stairs), perfectly frames the painting.
Well seem and captured Thomas!

A well made photo of the grafitti and with good use of the stair going down there. The shadow adds to the strong saturated colour setting.

I like the way you composed this view. Keeping a perfect struture on the left and the half made wall on right and the main subject between them. It gives a depth to the view. You have played well with the lights .Great work TFS

Hi Thomas,
This is my first visit to your site; I looked at several photos but this one pulled at my heart. The painting on the wall seems to define me. I have peace in my heart but I feel like screaming about the hate and dissention that abounds. Your title provides some hope in this painful composition. But having sung this song back in the sixties and attending peace demonstrations now, I see mostly people from my generation. But these is some hope; in your title, in the young people seen at this demo
I agree with your excellent critques above, especially Luciana's.
Regards, Pat

Hi Thomas, fine shot. You have caught a funny graffiti giving serious thoughts. Artistic by the painter and well caught by mind, eye and lense from you. Composition is really good and the stairs and the rocks nicely frames the motive. I think that you have added to the message from the painter and that you have told his story with fine technique. Also fine contrast and sharpness. I like it a lot. Regards Jens
