Photographer's Note

In October the Skala Kallonis fishers take their ships to the maintenance yard at the end of the harbor near the beach. Most of the work is done by themselves. The local shipbuilder helps with complicated or structural jobs. This fisherman is working on the paint of his trusted boat. I like the way he kinda blends in, aligning himself with the hull of his ship. I guess this is tell-tale. The fishermen of Skaka Kallonis are fully committed to their way of life.

With this posting I will start a new theme “Small ship(-maintenance) yards”.

PCS tech: heavily cropped, adjusted the levels, contrast saturation and curves; USM-ed , added a frame added and saved for the web.

Have a nice start of the working week.
