Photographer's Note
A hundred-year-old house on the road leading from Ayia Marina to Platanos, Leros. Its style is urban with neoclassical features, not similar to traditional urban houses which were much lower, smaller and simpler. In the beginning of the 20th century many Leriot families that had immigrated to Egypt and had done well in trading, built tall impressive mansions on their home island. They have similar architectural styles but are also carefully distinguished from the rest by details and colours. Some of them are still inhabited, some are abandoned and some, such as this one, are inhabited mainly in spring and summer. This is the summer aspect of the house with the green shutters I had posted some months ago.

Hello Ourania,
I definately very well remembered this beautiful house with the green shutters. Now assisted with the presence of these elegant red flowers, it looks even more beautiful. I also see the shutters in the upper flat are all wide open and that tells that it has been getting prepared for the summer season. I liked the constrats of deep blue sky and red flowers against the white house. The tonal range of this picture is so bold and vivid but hundred percent real, fits exactly to my tastes. I alos liked the light management under a strong direct like, everythin is under your control and clarity is marvellous. A great thank you for fulfilling my wish too. Have a loevly bright WE.

Έχεις ένα μοναδικό τρόπο να με ταξιδεύεις πάντα με τις φωτογραφίες σου. Οι μποκαμβίλιες είναι από τα ομορφότερα λουλούδια και μου θυμίζουν πάντα καλοκαίρι και ιδιαίτερα τα Ελληνικά νησία. Πολύ όμορφη σύνθεση με το αρχοντικό να προβάλλεται άψογα μέσα απο την γωνία λήψης σου.

Ciao Ourania,
Anche in questo caso eccellente POV ed inquadratura dal basso che mette in grande risalto l'architettura di questa casa in versione estiva, con una splendida luce sulla facciata, in un bel contrasto col cielo blu e col perfetto inserimento dei fiori rossi in FG che rendono l'immagine più profonda e più ricca di colore.

Hi Ourania,
Love the perspective, it does wonders for this image! The angle taken has made for some strong diagonal, "cross-cutting" lines from this stately house, emphasizing its solid shape. The bold colors from the various elements in this composition are my favorite aspect, it's a lively display. The sunlight definitely worked well for you also, it's bright and helps show sharp detail throughout. Good use of the foreground roses, they add a nice base, and the small portion of palm adds to the Mediterranean vibe. :) This house looks fantastic for its age, it's held up well!
