Photographer's Note
Dionysiou monastery (Greek: Μονή Διονυσίου) is an Eastern Orthodox monastery at the monastic state of Mount Athos in Greece in southwest part of Athos peninsula. The monastery ranks fifth in the hierarchy of the Athonite monasteries. It is one of the twenty self-governing monasteries in Athos, and it was dedicated to John the Baptist.
The monastery was founded in the 14th century by saint Denys de Korisos, and it was named after him.
The library of the monastery housed 804 manuscripts, and more than 4,000 printed books. The oldest manuscripts came from the 11th century.
Today the monastery has a community of around 50 monks.

Hi Vasilis,
Big monastery. On this rock it looks very impressive. Nice composition. The monks live in beautiful place, they have even the beach (and they do not use it, I suppose). Stunning sharpness.

The cemetery leads us along the iron fence toward the splendid monastery.

Je ne sais pas quel traitement tu as fait pour donner cette teinte au ciel, mais c'est impressionnant, comme cet endroit. L'image est d'une belle profondeur et d'une grande netteté.

excellent presentation. Location of this amazing monastery is well demonstrated here. I like very much the cemetery in the foreground, it adds not only some more interest but also enhances the geometry of the composition. Very interesting low light feeling with the orange color of the sky.

This is the close view of the monastery from your previous posting . excellent perspective, all the elements are in place with good lead in. But i find attractive is the warm tones of the sky which creates a great contrast in general, great dof, pin sharp image and superb clarity throughout. Great work, Congrats

Ciao Vasilis,
an excellent interpretation of this monastery on Mount Athos.
The POV is very impressive as well as framing and sharpness.
I can not figure out what time you made the shot: over the stones of the houses on my monitor I see a dominant a little 'blue, I might have tried to warm up a bit colors.
Of course it is a matter of personal taste and your shot is a great job.
I forgot! Very interesting notes on the history of this monastery.
