Photographer's Note
Heracles, a sculpture inside the museum of Athaea Athena, near the ancient Temple.
Heracles has just run forward and dropped to one knee to shoot a volley of arrows at his enemy. In the next instant he will dash off again. As he pulls the bowstring, his muscles strain. It is the moment just before he shoots the arrow. His clothes and hair look natural. The flaps of his tunic overlap as they would in real life. The head of the Nemean lion is on top of his head much like a hat and identifies him as Heracles. The lines of his hair, eyebrows and nose form shadowed undercuts.

Geia sou dear Vasilis, I much prefer this composition to your previous photo. The statue is amazing and I like the unusual play of light. Beautiful tones and textures and of course the subject itself is fascinating. TFS and I wish you a good weekend, Lisa

Καλή Ημέρα
Beautifully photographed statue of the hero. Although somewhat incomplete, and so impressive. Nevertheless, I prefer the more so when the sculptures are in a natural environment, not in a museum. But I know that my time had to hide them - they destroyed the Turks, Lord Elgin stole them. Excellent quality.

Bom dia Vasilis
Perfect sharpness and a perfect close. Heracles made part of the imaginary of children like others heros of the Greek mythology.Very well captured.
