Photographer's Note

An outdoor smoking area in a Thessaloniki restaurant featuring some colourful Cuban cigar smokers painted on roller security doors. The restaurant was deserted because all the locals head down to the esplanade in the late afternoon and early evening. It's something of a local ritual. I found better places to eat in the city centre that were cheaper, less crowded and served the food faster. But it's definitely worth heading to the esplanade at least for the sunset with the umbrellas.

The old woman appears to be Smokin' Graciela of Havana. You can see portraits of her here:
