Photographer's Note

A three days visit to Halkidiki is a great opportunity to see the place away from the overcrowded summer! This is the beach of Nea Triglia,a municipality of 5,888 residents, located at the west part of Halkidiki perfecture and 50km away from Thessaloniki. The place was active from prehistoric years, as the discoveries in the wider region shows, as the skull of Archanthropoy in Petralona cave.It is speculated that a town existed in the place of New Triglia with the name Spartolos in the current region Plane.During the Byzantine years was named Zyli or Zgyli. The old name (from the years of Ottoman domination) was Soyflar and thus today is called like that from the natives. The installation of refugees in the village Soyflar in the newer years became afterwards 1922, from residents emanating from the Asia Minor and the Eastern Thrace. Apart from New Triglia, certain other refugees installed themselves in Rafina Attica and thus two cities have most excellent relations. Before the arrival of refugees, Soyflar had devolved to the possession of Turku Aga and afterwards the Jew Saoyl Modianoy, in order to be bought from the Holily Abbey Batopedioy. In 1926 Soyflar became autonomous community, and received the name New Triglia. During B΄ World War the village was destroyed by the Germans.
A tripod was used for the shot along with the wide 17-35 lens. The sky was amazing as it was raining some hour before.I did some process afterwards by enchancing the warm tones and that gave this almost green of the sea, sharpen it and minimize the noise with Neatimage. Finally frame and resize!
