Photographer's Note

Prespa,an area comprised of lakes, wet meadows, forests, mountains, cultivations and villages in the northern end of the Pindus Mountains, is an amazing experience for those interested in nature and culture.
The Lakes Mikri and Megali Prespa ( what give the region's name) are two of the oldest and larger water bodies of the Balkans, and partake in the formation of the borders of Greece with Albania and the FYROM. Located at 850 meters above sea level, the lakes are surrounded by a ring of mountains rising at 2000 m.
Belonging to the Prefecture of Florina, Prespa has an area of approximately 330km2, with a permanent resident population of about 1,400 people distributed in thirteen villages.
