Photographer's Note

This view from above relates to the previous image of Myrtos Beach with the horizontal bands of blue seen from the beach to the horizon and sky. After two very stormy days the sea turned this milky colour due to the disturbance of the underlying limestone sediments. It is this rather random effect from above that is captured in the other image taken from sea level. Someone who understands these things will no doubt be able to explain why - I understand the effect of telephoto lenses etc., but I don't think you would expect the effect in the other image to be so horizontally banded.
