Photographer's Note
A postcard from Anafiotika, Athens, Greece. A typical Greek view comprising the Greek flag and the Greek Orthodox church bell gable, symbols of Greece, with the Mount Lycabettus (Lykavittos), a symbol of Athens, in the background.
Anafiotika is a cluster of small houses linked by small winding streets and narrow alleyways, built on the slope of the Acropolis above the historic quarter of Plaka. It's like being on a Greek Island. Its name comes from the original inhabitants which were stone masons from the island of Anafi who were employed to build the city of Athens in the mid 19th century.
