Photographer's Note

A well-known Frankonian half-timbered Fachwerk house from around the 15- or 16th century, this house at Badgasse 8 is in the heart of Bad Wimpfen, a city which sits atop a large bluff overlooking the river Neckar along the historic Castle Route (Burgenstrasse). Jewelry (“Schmuck”) and watches are sold in a shop on the bottom level of this house.

I happened to be there during a light rain, not normally the best time to take photos, but I caught the colorful umbrellas in a good position. The house is only wide enough for two windows, but is 4 levels tall! It must have been built this way to fit in the middle of this small city.
