Photographer's Note
The sun goes down on the town center of this sleepy little town, remarkable in no particular way except for how peaceful it is.
But for me, it was home for 3 years. Being the only Americans in town, my family and I were completely immersed amongst the local folks, which is exactly what we wanted and enjoyed.
The town has been around since the year 793 and is now up to 4,000 people, which makes for a spectacular growth rate of 3 people per year. It's in the wine growing region in central-south western Germany near Mainz, with vineyards on the small hills surrounding town, adding to the peaceful feeling.
