Photographer's Note

Walporzheim, a fraction of Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler, is situated at the very place where (when heading upstram) the wide and friendly Ahr valley turns into a very narrow gorge with slopes full of steep vineyards and forests up to 200 m high, offering space only for road, railway and river. The scenery is unique, especially for Dutch and British tourists who do not have anything similar in their respective counties.
Sanct Peter is the oldest inn of Ahr valley, dating back as far as 1100 A.D. and still a restaurant with outstanding reputation.
I asked myself if I should portray the historic inn and crop off the snow covered hills or focus on St. Joseph chapel and decided for the latter.
