Photographer's Note

Along the Spree

A view down the river Spree, which flows through central Berlin. I was standing near the Reichstag and other buildings that belong to the German parliament and looking towards former East Berlin. The most famous landmark is the Fernsehturm Berlin (Berlin Television Tower), built in the second half of the 1960s near Alexanderplatz. Its 368 metres make it the tallest structure in Germany. The large black and white building is the Internationales Handelszentrum (International Trade Centre), which was built between 1976 and 1978.
