Photographer's Note
Good Morning Everyone,
Today, I have returned to Germany.
I'm sure that many people, like me, will have been surfing their archives, reliving trips to previous interesting places, as the weather has been so horrible.
When I came upon this photograph of the Elector's Palace, I remembered how astonished I was when I first saw it. Even though I had seen it in a brochure, it was even more beautiful in reality! I know I was lucky with the weather, too.
The Electoral Palace in Trier, Germany, was the residence of the Archbishops and Electors of Trier from the 16th century until the late 18th century. It now houses various offices of the federal government and often hosts classical music concerts.
It had been originally part of the Ancient Roman Imperial Palace that was used by Constantine the Great in the early 4th century. It was used as the Elector's throne room. Some Roman mosaics also survive.
Enjoy your day, Bev :-)

Hello, Bev!
The pink painting of the palace makes such a beautiful contrast with the deep blue sky, and you got it with perfect light, which also enhances the beautiful architectural details of it! Wonderful place and composition! Well done!

Hello Bev,
The soft pink tones of the elegant facade contrast very nicely with the greenery of the gardens and the heavenly blue sky. I like the point of view and the use of the lamp as a frame. Well exposed with excellent colour contrasts ad very good sharpness.

Bonjour Bev,
Il porte très bien son nom ce Palace. Tu as choisit un point de vue original comme si tu étais gênée d'entrer dans un aussi bel endroit et te contentait des jardins. La lumière est magnifique et les détails sont d'une belle netteté.
Amicalement

Hello Bev,
It's a very attractive building with a beautiful garden, and the note reveals that it is even more interesting than we could tell from merely the façade. You were lucky to have such a favourable light, and with the sun shining from the right direction. The neatly trimmed bush to the left, and the trees and lamppost to the right frame the view of the Palace very nicely.
Kind regards,
Gert

Superior outcome with the bright light upon the pink facade, Beverley.
Charming front yard garden, meticulously card and gave extra charm to the scene.
Hidden in your archive for almost a decade...

Hello Beverley,
A great shot from Trier! What a beautiful building with many fine details and an appealing pink façade. The composition is very well composed with the gardens and flowers in the foreground and the lamppost at right. The fine sunlight highlights the beauty of the place perfectly.

Hello Bev, I have no time for looking in my archive, I still have many pictures from my two last trips that I would like to show. This pink palace is the main subject of photos from Trier. It is really beautiful, it looks like made from porcelain. Usually, it is shown in a symmetrical composition, here it is side view. Lovely flowers.
Kind regrads MAlgo

Hello Beverley,
An attractive composition with the slighty diagonal lines of the building and that of the flower bed extending in the other direction.
The pink colour of the facade goes well with the blue sky and the green of the garden.
A beautiful bright picture, perfectly sharp.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Bev
Pink tends not be popular for palaces but this palace is definitely splendid. A prefect capture of it.

Hi Beverley
Beautiful and interesting architecture in the sunshine. I like the way you have placed the building off-centre with extra foreground interest and this certainly looks a wonderful and popular place to visit. Love the tone, rich colours and fine detail throughout capped by that blue sky. Excellent capture!
Best regards

Hi Bev,
I never had a chance to visit this part of Germany.
This looks really encouraging.
The pink palace is something what my daughter would certainly love to see! Not only is the palace beautiful but also captured in a great setting of the colorful garden.
Well thought through composition with the lamp framing the view on a side.
Yes the weather is not optimal for photo walks, sometimes there is great light but the cold wind makes it a bit unpleasant so I will probably also return to my German archives now :)
Beautiful work,
M
