Photographer's Note
It is Time for Music
This presentation is my answer to the photo that Lars posted on October 25 to mark the end of the Daylight Saving Time in Europe
To his question “What Time is It” my answer is: It is Time for Music.
My three photos today were taken at about the same time and in the same location as Lars's photo.
At 9:12 PM (summer time) I saw a beautiful violinist playing wonderful under the Weltzeituhr (World Time Clock).
I'm not sure what she played anymore, but if I remember correctly it was something by Bach.
A few minutes later I suddenly saw that she had been joined by a young girl and their duet also sounded wonderful.
In the third photo I show the entire Weltzeituhr monument including the violinist.

Hello Rob,
These photos (even without a sound file) are interesting for the glimpses of life in Berlin on a warm evening in summer. They are also interesting for showing what a different atmosphere you can capture in the same place depending on the choice of crop or camera angle (most obvious in the comparison with Lars' photo). The main photo shows us something of the different cultures living side by side in Berlin, while the little girls makes the WS charming. I wonder if she is this lady's daughter or just a girl who happened to be coming by with her violin ready. I love the look of her eyes as she is watching the lady/mother.
They are all nice photos from the big city.
Best regards,
Gert

Goedemiddag Rob,
Mooi foto werk, bedankt.
Groeten uit een stormachtig Vlaanderen,
John

Hallo Rob,
Vele groeten, Paul

Hello Rob, as Gert has commented, Lars and yourself in the same place but with completely different interpretations.
Three excellent shots that tell a little story. I do wonder whether the girl is her daughter, and yet on the other two pictures I can see no sign of her. But you mention that they played a duet, so I guess that they were related.
Was she actually busking?
Thanks for sharing, kind regards, Jean.

Hallo Rob,

Hi Rob,
You have captured well the action of the musician. The point of view is showing the details of the violin. The sharpness is very good. Have a nice day.

Bonjour, cher Rob,

Good Morning Rob,
This is an excellent series of photographs.
You have very clearly shown the skill of the photographer to manipulate the scene to create the mood intended.
This fine close-up of the violinist gives no indication of the very public place in which she is performing. It is almost as if she is giving a private performance.
What a shock, to see the wider space!
Have a good day,
Bev :-)

We get to see street performers already for the last 40 years throughout any big city, Rob, with the Corona situation, this became "source" for livelihood for many artists.
An ambient scene, the world map on the pole made it "universal"...
Good afternoon,

Hello Rob, All photos are nice but my favourite is the picture of the little girl playing. Was it the daughter of the woman? Also, the picture with the whole area, with the big clock and some strange vehicles seems to be more interesting than the main one. Interesting composition, nice scenes from the most iconic place in East Berlin.
Best regards MAlgo

Hi Rob
The first thing I wanted to see in Berlin was the reconstruction of the ancient Greek Temple of Pergamon which I visited in Turkey and which had been stripped of all its statues and ornamentation and carted off to the Berlin Museum. It did not disappoint and my timing was great as it was to be closed for several years the following week. A good daily life scene in the street with excellent sharpness. Tfs!
