Photographer's Note

People walk home after a day's work in the rainy early evening, one day in February, 2007. I set up the camera to take a shot of the epicerie on this corner in the Marais district of Paris, when two pedestrians walked towards me; I waited until the woman's red coat was in the light of the tiny shop, hoping the shutter speed would be fast enough at maximum aperture to capture them sharply. I don't remember which corner this was, but the camera might be pointed down Rue de la Verrerie or Rue Sainte-Croix de la Bretonnerie, perhaps. I just remember its being parallel to Rue de Rivoli and not far from it. Scenes like this make me almost 'homesick' for Paris!
