Photographer's Note

I am not a car fanatic, but have always thought that no more beautiful thing was built by human beings than the Austin Healey sports car of the 1950's. One afternoon in the restored medieval town of Domme, in the Dordogne, I found a row of old sports cars parked in a small square; it seemed that the fanatics were having a rally that afternoon. The background of old houses seemed to suit the subject well, but this was the only position I could find that provided that background and the perspective of the curving road. I deliberately under-exposed (-0.7EV) this shot for the sky, and only had to increase the exposure and contrast a little in PS. I hope you like it, even if you have no interest in old cars.
