Photographer's Note
Mulhouse, mentioned for the first time into 803, was built on land that was frequently flooded, a challenge that resulted in the installation of water-pumping mills. Those same mills gave it its original German name, “Mülhausen,” and enabled it to launch itself into the local economy. The eight-paddled wheel that symbolizes the city and has appeared on its flag and its coats of arms since 1267 commemorates those early beginnings.
Today Mulhouse is a busy industrial town, but I was astonished at how fresh and sweet the water tasted. The public fountain in the town square has four amusing spouts from which runs a steady stream of fresh potable water. And humans are not the only beneficiaries of this sparkling drinking water. The pigeons that live in the eaves around the square happily refresh themselves here. I watched with great amusement as one took a bath and another had a drink. My shutter speed was unfortunately not fast enough to capture the bath, but the bright drops that still hang in the air here are the last traces of the vigorous splashing that was accompanied by a blur of feathers a split second earlier.

Hi Silke,
the dove is good in focus and well done in sharpness and position. The clear flowing water before that blurred background must be a bistro or such. The feathers are excellent visible.

Hello Silke. Your photo is really beautiful to regard. The pigeon stands out well against the background. It sits so on waterspout, as if it belonged there. Perhaps an artist comes once on the idea to build one waterspout with pigeon from Bronce or copper. Really a beautiful picture. Best regards, Wolfgang.

Picture sounds right there's imho not much more to see in Mulhouse than a drinking pigeon, I rarely go there but to Colmar instead... Anyway I feel quite happy the 3 french photos you have uploaded to date are from my region ;-)
You got the framing and bokeh right on that one, even though it's pity similar colors do not allow for significant differentiation of the two plans.
