The Avenue: The Champs-Élysées is the most prestigious and the broadest avenue in Paris. With its cinemas, cafés, and luxurious specialty shops, the Champs-Élysées is one of the most famous streets in the world, and with rents as high as $1.25 million a year for 1,000 square feet of space, it remains the 2nd most expensive strip of real estate in the world (the first in Europe) after New York City's Fifth Avenue. The name refers to the Elysian Fields (Underworld), the place of the blessed in Greek mythology.

Just for you to know, this "pink" event on the champs Elysées wasn't due to the french legislative election but to fans celebrating their rugby team "Le Stade Français" after they won the french derby the day before. The team was standing on a double deck and roofless bus going down and up the avenue and showing to the fans the "Bouclier de Brenus" which is the trophy they won.
