Cascade of the Vis river
Photo catch in gloomy weather and with a weak light, adding, I think, more wild character with the site. I chose this framing tightened to give more importance to the fall and also to obtain, considering the conditions, a better quality of the fall view.
The Vis is a small affluent river of Herault, a 30 km length. It takes its source on the Saint-Guiral mount in the solid mass of Aigoual. It disappears in the ground with Larcy whereas its flow reaches 50 l/s. Approximately 15 km further, it re-appears in Vissec, the mill of Lafoux with a flow of 1200 to 2500 l/s. Its affluents are in major undergrounds part. the Vis erodes the basement, provocative constantly underground crumblings able to stop its course of the hours, even days, as in 1779, 1890, 1927 and 1961. Its exploration, appears difficult and dangerous in a water with 11 ° and a very strong current. The Screw then impressed its course of surface in impressive throats reaching 300 m of depth dug in plates limestones called causses, of which the Causse of Larzac, crossing the imposing site of the Circus of Navacelles. It follows its torrential course giving its energy to an electric micro-power station with Madières, and its purity with some pisciculture with trouts of quality, then is thrown in Herault with Ganges.

c'est une bien belle photo,j'aime bien cette petite chute derriere qui à l'air de débiter du m3 et l'eau devant qui me parait stagnante sans trop de courant !!!

mangifique cascade, le cadrage est parfait et l'effet superbebe. le premier pllan est caleme et la chutte débite beaucoup d'eau, bien vu.

Good capture of this cascade with the mist spray rising. Well managed exposure that allows us to see the rushing waters clearly and gives a good sense of movement.

Bonjour Joël,
Ce panorama de la cascade est très joli et ce cadrage serré lui donne une importance certaine. J'apprécie particulièrement les traces de vapeur d'eau qui confirment l'activité de ces eaux.

The slow moving river in front appears to be higher than the bottom of the cascade. Nice composition with the strip if rock & boulders on each side separating the cascade & the river. The rim of the cascade is like the rim of a bowl. Nice forested background with a bit of sky. Overall an interesting & well balanced composition. Regards. Latiff.

J'aime bien ton choix de cadrage sérré pour nous présenter cette chute, en demi cercle, une bonne netteté sous cette faible lumière, des diagonales dans le fond qui donne l'idée de l'encaissement d cette rivière.

Tu n'étais pas très loin du cirque de Navacelles dont j'ai eu l'occasion de publier une photo dans ce site.
La cascade est très intéressante sous un bel environnement.
Cependant il est possible de photographier d'une faible hauteur avec un diaphragme plus fermé afin d'avoir une meilleure profondeur par l'avant-plan.
