Photographer's Note

Right in the middle of the nave, the 2 Coronelli's Globes were hanging. One is about the Earth, the other (this one) about the Sky.

The globes were designed by Coronelli for king Louis XV between 1681 and 1683. Their diameter is 4,87m and their weight 2 tons.
It was the first time since 25 years one can see them in Paris.

Some TE visitors said it was a pity 2 yellow cranes were standing in the Grand Palais, but now, they have the explanation : it was the only way to have... the globes hung there.
