Photographer's Note
The construction of the walls of Saint-Malo began in 1144. From 1708 to 1742 the architect Simeon Garengeau led the expansion of the city program and expansion of the walls according to plans by Vauban. They were built for a better defense of Saint-Malo, which had a harbor strategically well placed. Today, the walls are within walking distance and you can walk around and admire the sea, the various forts around Saint-Malo or inside the walls where the houses of the walled city kept the charm. Bonsoir Frederic
This photo stud out from the thumbnails not only because it is black and white but because of the great graphism the walkway has created. It is a real eye catcher and the way leads the eye beautifully in to the picture following the lonely lady. Great work indeed.
bonne soirée

Mmm, but weren't they entirely rebuilt after 1945? Appropriate realisation in B&W for this scene.

I find loneliness and depression in this shot.
Yet, it is still so clear and sharp... Like the silvery tones it has: precious and (but) cold.

Bonjour Frédéric
l pleut sur la Bretagne et il faut suivre les remparts et ne pas louper la descente.
Le N&B renforce l'idée de tristesse.
Bonne journée

Timeless photography, very atmospheric. Great positioning of the walking figure.
Afterthought: strange how 'timeless' somehow reminds me of fifties bl/w photography and movies...strange...
Enjoy your day.
Benny
