Photographer's Note
Je me suis trouvée mercredi en fin d'après-midi dans la calanque de Morgiou qui se trouve dans les quartiers sud de Marseille.Je suis arrivée trop tard pour le soleil mais,juste à temps pour saisir le reflet dans l'eau du sommet de la colline ensoleillée.

Ce n'est pas une photo de reflet comme les autres . L'effet miroir est ici remarquable . J'aime aussi le choix du cadrage , avec le ciel et le sommet illuminé dans le reflet . Le triangle dans le coin à droite ? il était sans doute impssible de l'éviter .

hi ghislaine,
this is a very nice harbour view. you have placed the boats well in the picture as the main subject. great depth of field to include the houses in the background. the best element to this though are the reflections in the water in the foreground. the sunlight illuminating the mountain top is superb, and the reflections of the dark blue sky are wonderful.

La composizione è bella e i riflessi sull'acqua l'arricchiscono di sicuro.
Trovo però troppo spessa la cornice che avrei comunque separato dalla foto con un bordino bianco interno.
Inoltre la vernice bianca delle barche, tende a sovraesporre.

Une superbe vue sur ce petit port où les roches augmentent immédiatement à partir de l'eau ou juste derrière la petite rangée de maisons.
J'aime beaucoup ce cadrage et le reflet du sommet avec une couleur magnifique et vive grâce à la lumière du soleil couchant.

Le cadrage est différent et permet de bien voir les reflets dans l'eau calme ainsi que le soleil qui frappe directement le sommet de la montagne. Une composition réussie.

L'image est très bien composée avec le reflet du haut de cette roche.Un très bon agencement des éléments dans cette composition,néanmoins pour être constructif je pense personnellement qu'une sous-exposition de -2/3 de diaph aurait permis de ne pas bruler le blanc sur les coques de ces embarcations.ce n'est bien évidemment qu'un avis personnel.

Oooh la la! Che bei questi riflessi, la resa cromatica e'proprio impressionante. Le barche caratteristiche ricordami molto delÍtalia, specialemente della Sicilia e Campania. Ma quando penso della Marseilles, penso di un grande porto, una grande metropolis. Hai mostrato benissimo una parte di Marseilles che non ci vediamo spesso. Complimenti e ti auguro una bella serata.

a very pleasing scene.
the south of France has so many photo opps!
I think the whites may be a little bit too white or overexposed, but its the overall atmosphere and charm that makes it so attractive.
and the reflection of the hillside in the water puts it over the top.

Comme d'habitude, Ghislaine, je vais legerement critiquer ce cliché, au demeurant trés joli, avec un reflet de toute beauté.
Attention au cadrage , la pointe du bateau touche trop le bord du cadre, et la partie basse à droite est de trop...
Trés beau travail, dans cette calanque que je connais par coeur.
Bravo et a plus.

I am fond of photos of mirror-like bodies of water, and this one is special. While the reflection of the boats is nice, it is the reflection of the sun lit cliff above that completes the scene and tells the story of this setting. Very creative!

This scene is certainly very attractive as it has all the exciting elements and I must congratulate you for so successfully and skillfully recorded it. Your choice of POV certainly captured all the best portion of the scene and I particularly love the very appealing reflections and the good lighting control. I cannot help but notice the white triangle at the lower right corner which is also fighting for my attention and maybe toning this down slightly will reduce its strength. Brilliant shot all the same!
