Photographer's Note
Good Morning Everyone,
Something different, today!
Is this a curious use of a bicycle?
I'm not sure that I have seen one utilised in such a way before!! BUT, I love to see such unusual occurrences!
When we visited Pont-Croix it was festival week. There was a Medieval Festival in operation all through the village. People were dressed in costumes and throughout the village, ancient skills and scenes were to be seen.
The food was supplied appropriately, too, though I'm not sure a bicycle or trailer would have been found in medieval France!
Please see the workshop here , it will give you more of a flavour of what was happening!
I wish you a lovely Sunday, though it's snowing here, Bev :-)

Hi Bev,
Quite interesting method to turn skewer, most probably invented by a local handyman. Not very modern looking, but definitely not medieval! Nice to see such less ordinary upload here. I would guess that wheel is from a moped.

Hello Bev,
There are some very practical folk about, though not me - my dad used to call me 'the bird they call the elephant'! Excellent capture of this strange but very useful contraption. Very good technical quality.

Hello Beverley,
This looks like a very ingenious cooking device! It certainly looks as though someone has used their old bike to create it. The food that is prepared here does look very medieval on the other hand.

Hello Bev,
Those who preach the need to reduce the CO2 emissions often recommend us to use bicycles in the cities more often and to eat less meat. This strange invention seems to be some kind of compromise. Lots of meat being prepared with the help of a recycled bicycle. ;-) It's an original and amusing photo, and that goes for the WS too.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hello Bev,
Of course in the Medieval, time not bicycles where, but a wonderful invention with very few energy.
The meat on the trailer shall are for more than two people.
Pleasant perspective and depth picture
Very well done, TFS.
Have a nice Sunday, greetings from Belgium,

Hello Bev,
Gosh, how wonderful that Mrs. Robinson should post a photograph of such a remarkable Heath Robinson contraption as this!! :)
I just love how some clever and inventive individual has used parts of an old bicycle to provide quite a sophisticated reduction gearing to rotate that spit slowly with the aid of an old relatively high speed electric motor (which was probably stolen from an old washing machine).
I admire the ingenuity of the inventor who obviously thought this contraption would save him/her from the dreadful work of a mediaeval "spit boy"!
Very well seen and captured with good light, natural colours and excellent clarity.
Wonderful!
Kind Regards,
John.
P.S. That roasting meat looks delicious - did you sample it?

Hi Bev
They were still having snow showers in Czech Republic in April 2015, although it melted quickly. Looks a bit like roast pork. An unusual use for old bicycle frames as a spit! The Mexican hat in the workshop is humourous. Tfs!

Hello Bev,
A fantastic creative composite device to rotate the spit. A nice tinkering of different recycled elements.
The only criticism may be that this instrument does not fit into a medieval festival.
Two beautiful photos to show this.
Have a good Sunday, groet Rob

Ciao Bev
non so se l'ideatore di questo macchinario ha depositato il brevetto, ma dovrebbe farlo, anche se poco convenzionale, è sicuramente originale e curioso.
Due foto molto divertenti.

Witaj Bev!
I am a mechanical engineer, this device makes an amazing impression on me.
What people will not come up with ?
But this is a wheel a moped, not a bicycle ;)
I see such a device for the first time is impressive!
A great reporter photo x2.
Good evening.

Hello Bev,
This is a very unusual way to cook meat! It probably works as well as any fancy new device. You were lucky to be there during festival week and I am sure that you enjoyed the atmosphere. A very well recorded bit of ingenuity!
Kind Regards, Ann

Hello Beverley,
Anothe nice and interestin capture/te entry in your gallery.
Untill I'd read your notes I was thinking this is a scene from my country or any other Mideast country. But it's from Breatgne.
Those people must be quite creative; most probably this unique grill system does not have any other competition all over the World. Perfect TE entry, also with it's good and interesting notes.
TFS and best regards

Dear Beverley,
You showed us something completely different, because nobody expects the Spanish inquisition! Sorry, a bicycle wheel serving as a mobile grill. Nice observation. Did you try the meat?
Best Wishes,
Gy.
