Photographer's Note
BRETON CULTURE AND TRADITION VII.
The title again is in the BRETON LANGUAGE, because the only name known by the old people for this spring ,is in breton; it means: "THE DEVIL'S FOUNTAIN".
It's probably a fountain dating back to the stone age. After Christianisation, a lot of the fountains were consecrated to a saint. This one obviously wasn't, and as it wasn't called Fountain Saint Somebody, people must have decided it was the Devil's fountain.
It's by a stream, the river of Pont-Kalleg, which separates the commune of Plougastel from Loperhet- Finistère, the next commune. It leads to the litlle harbour also called Pont-kalleg (my post n° 5) .
On the other side of the stream, there is a meadow used as a relaxing paradise by my family nowadays (my post 49) . We love getting our drinking water from this barely simple fountain, just as the farmers used to do during hay-making or while looking after the grazing cows, when I was a little girl.
This photo is a little bit dark, the place being in thick undergrowth; but I liked the slightly lighter colour of the fern, serving as a canopy over the spring.
1WS where I tried some improvement to the photo.

Ciao Marie.

Hello MarieLouise,
You have some very nice photos in your gallery. I decided to look at some of your older photos, just to see how (or if) your style has changed over the years. This is a very nice close-up, with an interesting note. TFS.
Cheers,
MT
P.S. I am looking forward to that Pamukkale photo.
