Photographer's Note
The Drus are a famous mountain of the Alps, in the clump of the Mont Blanc, between the glaciers d'Argentière and Mer de Glace, and together with l'Aiguille Verte.
His height is modest, compared with other peaks that are closely together. The Drus are formed by two peaks, the Great Dru, of 3.754 meters, and the Petit Dru, of 3.733 meters, separated by a gap to 3.698 meters.
The latter, the Petit, is a spectacular granite needle visible from many places of Arve's valley (in Chamonix-Mont Blanc's municipality) and very soon it attracted the attention of the fans of a new sport: the mountain climbing.
This way so, the first ascension of the Petit Dru did it on the part of Prosper Payot, Jean Charlet-Straton, and Frédéric Folliguet, in 1879 , a milestone of the most important merit in that moment.
Routes of climbing have an gradation Extremely difficult (degree VI) and Very difficult Superior (degree V). In the base of the mountain, in the slope of Mer de Glace and accessible from the station of Montenvers's tourist railroad, is the small refuge of The Charpoua, which preserves nowadays the environment that had to have when it was constructed, in the times of the first mountain-climbers.
Roger Frison-Roche, guide of mountain, explorer and novelist, it located in this refuge his popular work The first one of the rope team, and in the Petit Dru the drama frees itself so with wisdom reported in this novel.
This photo of the Petit Dru is taken precisely from Montenvers, and allows admiring the slender profile of this beautiful mountain.
This mountain inspired the name for my dog, to whom we are called DRU in his honor. I put a WS with his photo in order that you know it.

Hi Josep
Another great landscape of a mountain.
The perpective you choose is very effective because like this we have an idea of the size of this mountain.
Well done

Bonsoir Josep,
amicalement

Hi Josep,
Your compositions show your love of mountains. The cool tones of grey, blue and white, the sharply barren rocks with the clouds blowing past all make a photo that send a chill up one's spine from the cold. The note supports this view. Did you climb here? From the workshop photo in the compare mode, one can see why you named your dog DRU.

Salut Josep

Hi Josep, first, I like to meet your Dru - cute dog wanting to go walking. He stands up very well looking out at the weather.
Second, what a super looking mountain. What very sharp and pointed peaks it has. Good POV, and sharp details and contrasts. Well done.

Bonjour Josep.
