The wooden head.

In the French version, I used as title "la gueule de bois", hangover, instead of "tête de bois", wooden head. "Gueule de bois" means about wooden head, and also means hangover. This pun refers to excesses of the end of the year.

At the time of an excursion in the canyon of the Vis river, in this drawn aside place, worthy of the "lost World" of Arthur Conan Doyle (1859-1930), I met a monster of another age, motionless but not petrified, made of wood.
Forming a unit with the rock, condemned forever to survive in this place, it was understanding, offering to me after its right profile, its face and its left profile.

La Vis is a small tributary river of Herault, a 30 km length. It takes its source on the Saint-Guiral mount in the moutain of Aigoual. It disappears in the ground with Larcy whereas its flow reaches 50 l/s. 15 km further, it reappears in Vissec, by a résurgence with the mill of Lafoux with a flow of 1200 to 2500 l/s. Its affluents are in major undergrounds part. The Vis runs then on its course of surface dug in the medium of impressive plates limestones, between causses of Larzac and of causse of Blandas, in which it cut the circus of Navacelles.

Vissec is a French commune, located in the department of the Gard of the Languedoc-Roussillon area, populated of 45 "Vissecois", distributed on 22 km², that is to say 2 hab./km².

With a version black and white, I preferred the original version and his colors, on which the "head" separates better from the rock.
