Chapel "Notre-Dame de la Salette" XIXe century, on Saint-Clair mount, decorated with murals paint carried out by Jean-Claude BRINGUIER in 1954, representing Stations of the Cross. It is dedicated to "Notre-Dame de la Salette", which would have appeared 19 September 1846 to two children to 1800 m of altitude close of Corps in Isere district.
A chapel in the chapel is covered with ex-votos deposited by fidéles in recognition to "Notre-dame de la Salette", of which number of ex-votos of sailors.
In 1666 Pierre-Paul Riquet, the manufacturer of the "Canal du Midi" connecting the Mediterranean to the Atlantic, creates the port of "Cette". At the same time one comes venerated Saint-Clair, evangelist of the area. On the Saint-Clair Mount which dominate Sète of its 182 m, the chapel was devoted in 1864 per Henri Gaffino, parish priest eldest of Sète.
Sete is a French commune of the department of Herault and Languedoc-Roussillon area, populated of 43 400 Sétois and Sétoises distributed on 24 km², is 1792 hab/km².
It is the town of artists like Paul Valéry, George Brassens, Manitas de Plata, Jean Vilar, the brothers Di Rosa.
It is the 1st fishing port of the French Mediterranean. Fishing setoise is made of artisanal flotillas, made up of family armaments. Fishing is day labourer (left the boats 3 hours, return towards 16-18 hours), during 220-230 days of fishing per annum, for an average tonnage of 8 000 to 10 000 tons (2/3 blue fish, 1/3 white fish). The setoise fleet includes:
- 34 general-purpose trawlers from 18 to 25 meters.
- 17 tuna boats senneurs from 25 to 45 meters.
- about thirty small boats practising traditional fishing.
- the production of oysters and moulds is mainly concentrated on banks of Pond of Thau.

A splendid indoor shot, quite atmospheric, with the perfectly chosen angle to let us see the entire front portion of the church. Some amazing ornaments and wall paintings here, and quite unusual too. The colors are very natural and the lighting only compliments the entire shot. Fine work.

Très belle et originale décoration de cette église, n'avait jamais rien vu de tel. J'aime ces feux et indirects cadre en diagonale en soulignant l'arc et les peintures. Excellent POV.

Le point de vue très bas donne imposance à cettes arcades très colorées. La croix joue un role important en fixant le regard de l'observateur àprès qu'il à marché à travers l'ecran en suivant formes et peintes.

I don't think I have seen a church with such clean lines in the architecture. That is made up for with the stunning paintings. Unusual choice of angle and very interesting. The additional images in the WS are perfect to give us a good idea of the place.

Très étonnantes ces fresques... Loin de ce que l'on a l'habitude de voir dans les églises. Je n'arrive pas à me savoir si j'aime ou je n'aime pas, mais ce qui es sûr c'est que ta composition est fort réussie.
Le jeu de lumière est excellent, parfaitement géré, et permet d'apprécier les détails de ces peintures.
Le point de vue bas est également très bien choisi pour laisser s'exprimer les voûtes.
Bravo de sortir des sentiers battus en proposant cet intérieur de chapelle moderne.

Buena y bonita imagen de esta iglesia que, de no ser por algunos detalles, bien podria ser una sala de fiestas, (yo conozco una parecida).
Me gusta el trabajo técnico, con buen enfoque y luz, que nos deja ver los preciosos detalles de la cúpula.

Fotos de este estilo en espacios cerrados y de escasa iluminación, generalmente, al menos para mí, no son fáciles de realizar.
Los elementos en conjunto guardan una gran armonía, hay mucho orden y belleza en este escenario. Las tonalidades son suaves y cálidas y el ambiente encierra mucha sobriedad y elegancia

Très beaux jeux de lumière dans cette chapelle du 19è, dont l'intérieur a une apparence bien moderne! J'aime beaucoup les jeux de lumière dans le WS également. Quant à l'extérieur de la chapelle, elle a une architecture bien méditerranéenne; on se croirait en Grèce!

C'est en regardant ta 500ème photo (un peu tardivement, félicitations ;) que j'ai cliqué sur le lien qui m'a amené sur cette image...le pdv est bien pensé et nous permet d'avoir une idée de l'intérieur de la chapelle avec ses jolies peintures. Une bonne expo et des couleurs bien rendues.
