Return of fishing at 4h30 pm

Sete is a town of 40000 inhabitants to 30 km of Montpellier, to narrow enters the sea Méditerranée and the pond of Thau. It bore the name of Cette until 1928. Since 1666 until now a succession of great work have made it the 11th wearing of France. It is also the 1st port of fish of Méditerranée.

It is the 1st fishing port of the French Mediterranean. Fishing in Sete is made of artisanal flotillas, made up family armaments. Fishing is day labourer (left boats 3 hours, return towards 16-18 hours), during 220-230 days of fishing per annum, for an average tonnage of 8 000 to 10 000 tons (2/3 blue fish, 1/3 fish white).
The fleet of Sete includes
- 34 general-purpose trawlers from 18 to 25 meters.
- 17 tuna boats senneurs from 25 to 45 meters.
- about thirty small boats practising fishing traditional.
- the production of oysters and moulds is mainly concentrated on banks of L ' Pond of Thau.
