Photographer's Note

Sequence nostalgia! The horse-gear of the garden of Luxembourg, on which like many Parisian children, I made many turns and tried to catch the famous metal rings with a stick! Those which know will include/understand because this device (instead of tail of Mickey) always exists. I have for my part known the time when this horse-gear turned in launched silence to the hand by a man (sometimes a woman) actuating a fatty crank! Since the horse-gear at electrified summer but the horses and other animals are always well of authentic wood as well as the frame of the horse-gear! This true historic building is far from the horse-gears types with the?il and noisy today.

This merry-go-round was built in 1879 within Charles Garnier, the architect of the Opera of Paris. The poem which Rainer Maria Rilke will devote to him, familiar of the garden, attracts many German tourists still today.
