Photographer's Note
In Paris, in September 2005, one of the main cultural event was the re-opening of the Grand Palais, during 2 weeks.
The Grand Palais was built between 1897 and 1900 and opened for the 1900 Universal Exhibition. It is supposed to be one of the most impressive buildings in Paris. This is a place for exhibitions and cultural events.
In 1993, there was a small accident (a clinch falled from the ceiling) and the building got closed. The structure was too old and it got repaired. Reparations will actually finished in 2007 but it was possible to visit the inside. THE EVENT !
The first thing I saw was a "new" Quadridge ("Harmony defeating Discord"), which is located at one angle of the building, close to the Seine River. A good beginning !!
Concerning the frame, I hesitated a lot about the flag. Inside or outside the pic ? You tell me...

Salut Stéphane
Personnellement, je trouve l'idée très bonne d'avoir inclu le
drapeau dans l'image. Ca rajoute une petite touche patriotique
qui va à merveille avec cette splendide statue et qui me
plait bien (suis à moitié français quand même...). Je regrette
juste les branches en premier plan, mais je pense que c'était
inévitable vu la hauteur à laquelle semble se trouver la
statue. Belle compo!

My goodness it looks like this statute arrangement took alot longer than an afternoon to make! What a piece of art! You have sure captured this well too. Nice lighting from this low angle. Good work.

The classic triangular composition is well suited for this image. The light on the sculpture is superb. The flag while conflicting provides interest in the composition. I was just wondering if we have crossed path in Paris. Well done!! All the best.

Hi Stéphane, With France flag in the background, we don’t need any other information to know where it is. So, I’d like to have the flag in the picture. Plus, this PoV is very well suitable for the light with the low light angle, which made the statues show its 3D very well. I like the frame of the tree branches on the bottom as well. A well taken picture with sharpness, nice contrast.

C'est une belle image, et un symbole que l'on devrait mettre en avant plus souvent et sans ombre (elles sont fortes dessous mais ce n'est pas une prise de studio et on ne peut pas descencre le soleil :-))
J'aime bien, c'est bien équilibré et la présence du drapeau est excellente en association avec le groupe de statues.
Grand palais ? J'espère que tu vas y entrer et jouer des lignes et des lumières sur la verriere, fais le pour le provincial que je suis :-))

It’s a sharp picture and well composted.
The flag doesn’t border me at all. In a kind way I like it with this statue.
Well done.
A month before I was there, the grand palace was in renovation.
They where cleaning the outside what a different it was.
So I must come back to take more pictures of the nice building and surroundings.
