Photographer's Note

As I was leisurely walking around the open space of the Palais de Chaillot and enjoying the days first light, I noticed this local Parisian taking a moment to read the daily newspaper, presumably before heading to work. I was lucky enough to also capture a tourist taking a few pictures of himself at the same time.

This is probably the best and most classic location to first see the Eiffel Tower, the esplanade offers a breathtaking view of France’s most iconic landmark. What a great way to start the day!

Although the people are the main subject and point of focus, I couldn’t resist wanting to include the entire arch of the tower in my framing of this photo. For more of an impactful image, I’ve included a cropped version in the Workshop for comparison.
