Photographer's Note
I travel a lot to Paris, it's one of my most favorite cities, but after 14 or 15 stays there, my photographs started repeating each other and, worse yet, postcards. So this trip my goal was to photograph everyday Paris. I found this gentleman patiently waiting, seated on the edge of la Fontaine de l'Observatoire, at southern end of les Jardins de Luxembourg. I obtained both my goals, an incident of daily life, including a land-mark fountain without water. After I took the photo, a woman pushing a stroller hurried up and everyone continued on their way towards the gardens.

Hello Lois, Well captioned shot. One can discern his crossed arms as he appears to wait patiently for someone. I really like the fact that you included this marvelous statue in the photo as well. Very imposing and looking ageless. Good job. Regards, Roger

Hello Lois,
It's a wonderful composition, and the black coat and red scarf of the man are perfectly Parisian. Do they no longer wear black berets?
Warm regards,

Hi Lois
Great composition here, though perhaps the man is too central. Nevertheless teh staue is fantastic and the man comliments the scene nicely.

I remember this fountain from my walk from the Louvre to the Eifel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe. Nice detail of the man in red scarf; very conspicuous.
