The 27th edition of the European Patrimony Days took place the 18 and 19 September in whole France. The theme of these two days: "Great Men: When women and men make History."
Each year, the European Patrimony Days bring together more than 12 million visitors. In 2010, more than 15,000 monuments open their doors for the occasion, more than 3000 exceptionally. 22 000 events were organized at all open sites (conferences, exhibitions, tours, concerts, workshops for young audiences, etc..) Combining public and private initiatives, the Patrimony Days are an opportunity to publicize the work of government and to showcase the work of those who act daily (most often on a volunteer basis) in the service of knowledge, preservation and enhancement of patrimony. Since 1991, the Patrimony Days have taken a European dimension. 49 countries now hold a similar event.

To illustrate these days, I have chosen to present one of the most visited sites in France. It attracts no doubt by its spectacular appearance, but it is also a vivid testimony of the role of Man in History, decisive player by his philosophical beliefs, social status, occupation, interests, ambitions, his modesty. ..

Le Mont-Saint-Michel, feet in the Couesnon, at the blue hour, after a long wait of the departure of the crowd and vehicles.
