Photographer's Note

In almost every ancient village in France, there still is a public water source. In the early days, there was no problem for people to drink the water, but nowadays... regulations et cetera... The sign 'eau non potable' means thus 'no drinking water'.

Moudeyres is one of these ancient villages, almost like a open air museum. It still depicts the building style of long ago, with slate or straw roofs (or both at the same roof, one on top of the other), and there is a litte farm museum showing how people lived in the 17th or 18th century (Ferme des Perrels - Farm of the Perrel brothers).
