Photographer's Note

Well...this is one more of the Helsinki's White Cathedral, built by Engel, and finished in 1852. Engel was a German architect who moved to Helsinki in early 19th century and built all the most important buildings of Finland: the "Senate" building where Finnish Government is placed nowadays, the University "headquarters", its library and this cathedral, amongst some other houses encompasing the Senate square.

The Cathedral is quite intersting in its design engulfing quite many different styles, one of the most dominant being the neo-clasicism. The domes, however are a nice additional feature enriching the clasicistic features. The four small domes were acctually added later after Engel died, a few years before the cathedral was finished. There are twelwe statues of apostoles positioned around roof perimeter as well. The inside is ofcourse very humble and "clean" as it is afterall a Lutheran church.

I basically did not do any post processing, not even a just came out like this. I think a higer iso with strong light and PL filter helped in that.

I hope you like it!!! Alan
