Photographer's Note
Male Scarce Copper (Lycaena virgaureae). Male butterflies are colored bright gold-red on the upper side of wing, while the females have broader orange wings with a dark design.
Scarce coppers can be found from Central Europe to Mongolia. In Finland their area of distribution reaches the Arctic Circle. They fly in summertime, eggs survive through the winter. They live preferably on flower-rich, dry and damp meadows, and especially like my mother's daisies!

Bonjour Kari,
un gros plan de bonne facture, qui manque juste un peu de résolution dans les détails. Les lumières sont presque parfaites, un peu trop exposées dans les blancs.
Une DOF efficace qui donne bien le relief.

Hi Kari,
While the butterfly just barely misses perfect sharpness, (something with which I continue to struggle) this photo still works. I think it's the strong graphic detail of the daisies and the way the butterfly replaces the yellow daisy center.
