Winter has finally arrived in Finland. Lakes are freezing but ice is not thick yet. In March ice cover is usually pretty solid. But not in this location where water flows from Tahmela spring to lake Pyhäjärvi.
Shot from the top of Pispala ridge.

une très belle image hivernale, j'aime bien la vue plongeante sur la scène au bord de l'eau.
le plan d'eau entourré de glace et de neige est du plus bel effet.

It's a very good high pov to capture this! People seem to enjoy this place, I like to see them divided in two groups, it seems that these in foreground are children watching something in the water. I like the composition, the textures and traces on the snow!

Hello Kari, beautiful composition, attractiove specially for those who haveno real winter. Such a play on the sky can end tragic, hopefully this ice is stable enough. Interesting capture, I like the view of the people going on the empty white surface.

quelle vue plongeant sur ces deux personnes qui se ballades sur le lac gelé avec les traces sur la neige et d'autres personnage au bord de la glace elle a l'air bien épaisse par endroit et fine par d'autres superbe.

This is a beautiful view and you composed it well with a very good balance between the lower and upper parts. The diagonal tracks cut across the upper corner very nicely. The exposure is outstanding too.

Never saw a frozen lake, nor did I walked on one, Kari.
For me this would be an awesome adventure, and I find this pic. very intriguing.
A POV that show well places with the thin and dangerous ice.

A wonderful calm snow wide open landscape seen for this vantage point and this view is quite something that you get to some terrific location with attractive features. Lovely how the silhouetted figs settle the eye as strong anchor points. Good pleasantly shot, Congrats

Hello Kari,
The dark human figures against the snow add a strong graphic element which caught my eye even in the thumbnail. The trio by the lake in the fg compliment the scene. A superb high pov with good sharpness. Tfs!

Is it must me or does this seem a little dangerous?
the ice looks so thin near the boys, so wouldn't it also be thin in places up where the adults are walking???
I would be worried to walk across this patch of ice.
but as for the photo its so smartly composed.
including the children at the bottom really does extend the image fully. At both ends there are subjects to draw attention to.

nice this minimalist view with some few personages and the edge of the lake in evidence.the framing in perfect using well the track at side. I liked the result, full of poetry.
here we are facing a heat wave in april, not usual. in these last months we faced terrible heat waves, terrible rains, floods, storms, even a little tornado passed at side of the town and now we are facing a small drought. looks like the craziness of the weather is the same of the Brazilian politic and economy.
