Photographer's Note

This winter has been the second one in a row, when we have had snow even more than wished here along southern coast of Finland, where recent winters have been mostly with light snowfall. February this year was also the coldest in 6 years where I live, the average temperature -12 °C (10 F) and minimum temperature -31 °C (-23 F).

The photo was taken after our last bigger snowfall, which added another 15 cm to the ground, so that the weather station reported 75 cm snow depth. Luckily the weather was sunny and not too cold for a walk in the winter wonderland of the nearby forest. I could walk along the narrow paths tramped by dog owners and other walkers. Temperature was -10 °C and in the middle of forest the wind was away.
