Photographer's Note
In Finland one of so called everyman's rights is the right to pick wild berries from nature. The picker is also allowed to sell them tax free. Traditionally this has been an important source of extra income in the countryside. Most important berries are cloudberry, blueberry and lingonberry (in the picture).
Nowadays this right is also utilized in larger scale. Berry dealers arrange working journeys for foreigners who arrive for a couple months to Finland. As a quirk of globalisation, most of these foreign pickers are farmers from Thailand.
(If you happen to be red-green colour blind you notice that picking lingonberries is probably not your thing.)

Hello Kari,
A very bright and colourful picture, nicely composed with the grey stump of the tree included to break the red and green dominance. It's interesting that you have the same tradition of everyman's right in Finland. Possibly it's a heritage from Swedish rule long ago. I hope the organized picking is better handled in Finland than in Sweden where it is sometimes a pathetic business involving trafficking of poor Vietnamese and Chinese who end up getting very little money.
Regards,
Gert

Hi Kari !!
nice composition with the wood off centre.... so it does not compete with the berries.
Very sharp image and vibrant colours.
of course..... the photo brings back memories..... so easy to pick them up !!

Hi kari, I am not red-green blind so I can appreciate this view of so fresh
lingonberries. (Women very rarely suffer it, as it is connected with X chromosome). I do not know if it is the rule but it is the same in Poland. many people pick blueberries, specially in the mountains, and then sell them. But now all these berries are not so abundant as before, they are very expensive.
Stunning shot, incredible colours and sharpness. i can imagine the confiture from them with a roast turkey, yummmm
Warm regrads
