Photographer's Note
Lately I spotted some glider planes high above my home – they where using the thermals in order to gain height. Today I even got the chance to study a plane real close.
The young glider pilot where losing height, and in stead of taking any risk, he decided to make a safe landing (sounds better then emergency landing he told me ;-)
This good Danish cornfield was the safest place around and every thing went smooth – I didn’t actually see the landing (too bad) but did get some shots and permission to post.
I was amazed to see the mirror like reflections on the wing – I didn’t noticed this when I took the photo – The background was a little dull, so its been blurred – otherwise only cropped, resized and sharpened.
To show how much runway he got left I also posted
This – an example of Danish nature right now.
So what to happen next. When I first spotted the plain he was calling for assistance and shortly after I left, a car with trailer arrived, the wings was dismounted and the plain was brought home in three pieces.
Second note: This shot been taken by holding the camera high above the head and hoping for something useful :-)

It's like you are standing high and look down on the "pilot", nice view, but the most I like, is the "unexpected" reflection under the wing, an extra "dimension"
And these danish buildings in the background.
Special picture, Jeppe.

Jep, very very beautiful picture..light is beautiful, reflection is great, background is lovely (after you blurred maybe but whatever, it looks lovely)
I loved reflection on the pilot very much also..big white wings were good reflectors for him..

Very fine composition Jeppe, it captures the elegance of a glider plane well, and there is a nice bright light, especially on the pilot. The photo could also work with the background buildings cropped away leaving only the green field as background, but this crop is fine too.
I think the edge between the blurred and the not-blurred parts of the image is much too obvious. With Photoshop you can make a Mask so an effect like the blur filter can be applied in a gradual way, I don't know how it is with other programs.

I love this shot and especially your note which I found very amusing. Looks like he was having alot of fun, and you too! Fantastic detail on these interesting craft - I like the reflections on the wings. It seems strange seeing him in what looks like military gear. Well seen Jeppe & thanks for sharing.

Great shot, Jeppe. I like the angle, which makes the person seem so small compared to the wing. Nice reflection. Beautiful greens. Well framed.

When I saw the thumb, I thought this looked like rather a plain (haha not plane) shot. When I saw the full size image, I saw that it's got the Jeppe touch, with an inventive PoV giving it an edge. The reflection in the wing of the grass is also a nice touch.

Such an amusing shot, Jeppe! Seems you happend to be in the center of a story with happy end. :-) Yes, the mirror like reflections of the wing work fantastically to the whole composition. Together with your note this is a wonderful shot, Jeppe. Very well done!

Wow! Impressive POV Jeppe! I like the way you show this. I would perhaps take a wider focal length if possible, and go to an even lower angle (just a personal taste). But this is really great so. Reflection works great and sharpness is at a top level. Really outstanding with a strong graphic impact. BTW, Danish nature is beautiful, you should post it as another shot, just crop it a bit at the bottom and righ, and that's a good one. Well done.

EXCELLENT...I like the reflection in the wing very very much. The green makes this picture very refreshing. The smile on the face of the pilot also soften the image. Great shot!

What a spectacular reflection you got on the bottom side of the wing, Jeppe - amazing. The shot is really well composed, with the two strong diagonals of the airplane wing and its shadow. The cheerful pilot is an excellent addition, and the landscape setting is a fine and very colorful one. Great shot.

SUPERBE rien a redire sur cette prise tout y est trés bien fait et j'admire la profondeur de champ qui se melange a l'aile de ce planeur.
Etant moi meme un grand passioné d'aviation je ne peut que prendre cette image dans mes favorites.
Bravo Jeppe

Very nice perspective you created by having the wing in the front. You really know how to position yourself. And I agree with others that the buildings in the background are a plus. A good thing you are not living on Mols or they would maybe have sent in eight peasants to carry the pilot out of the corn so that he wouldn't destroy it on his way out. I actually wonder how they do get these planes out of people's fields.

Spectacular POV here, Jeppe. I was wondering what yout height is but your note provided the answer. Quite nice how this glider is integrated in grass by its reflection in the shiny wing. Good DOF too. And I must admit that I like your WS even more - what a compo and what a graphical quality due to all those layers. So great shots, Jeppe & fine note too.

Hi Jeppe, Very good POV. This perspective has been well considered to make the photo so much different to how many would have taken this. Good creativity. Murray.

Hi Jeppe,
Nice picture with this reflecting wing (You know, sailplane pilots keep their wings spotless to minimize turbulence and thus optimize their gliders flying capacities). I must say I like the WS photo even better, with the lines in the green field and the yellow fileld in the background. Looks like a great spot to land a glider ;-)
