On the island of Amager just off the coast from Copenhagen (and today part of the city) a new urban area is being developed.
The name Ørestad relates to the sea not far away called Øresund. At the same time a new bridge was built across Øresund to Sweden.
This is the Ørestad train-station where you can change to the new Metro system. The architecture is rather cool and hard in glass, steel and concrete, but I find it strangely attractive anyway
Ørestad, the bridge to Sweden and the metro-system are all part of the same plan, brewed in the late 80's when Copenhagen was in a rather stagnant economic situation in an attempt to get out of the quagmire.

(what - human presence - I don't need no human presence, it spoils the architecture ;-)
